Konyang University unified the newspaper department and the broadcasting system into the Konyang Newspaper and Broadcasting System in September, 1998, to build up a sound development of campus opinion and studying environment.

I. Newspaper Department

The Newspaper Department is composed of the Office of Planning, the Office of News collecting, the Office of Editing, and the Office of Cultural Activities. The department publishes a newspaper at the beginning of every month by ten or more students journalists including the editor-in-chief. Apprentice journalists are selected among the freshmen at the beginning of every semester and each office head is given a university scholarship.

Their major activities and events include:
1) Editing and evaluation meetings complying with newspaper publication;
2) News collection and editing;
3) Training activities for apprentice journalists;
4) Assistance in university public relations.

II. Konyang Broadcasting System Department

Konyang Broadcasting System Department is composed of four offices: the News Office takes the responsibility to report quick and correct news; the Production Office takes care of production of news; the Announcer Office conveys the news directly to the students; and the Technical Department controls general technical equipment in broadcasting. KBS has thirty staff including four directors in four departments. Apprentices are selected every semester among freshmen and directors are awarded scholarships from the university.

Here are major events:
1) Take part in the national university broadcasting contest;
2) Arrange the KYBS Broadcasting festival;
3) Prepare special summer evening programs;
4) Operate the training programs for staff;
5) Assist in university public relations.
