This systematic, practical, and useful discipline provides insights into important questions regarding the determinants of wealth, poverty, and social welfare; of unemployment, inflation, and economic growth; of success and failure in the marketplace. Economics helps one understand the economic activities of the market participants and the aspects in the various markets: the goods and services market, financial markets, labour markets, and foreign exchange markets, through which goods and services are produced, distributed and consumed.
