Department of Counseling & Psychotherapy

The department offers both theories and practices to help students understand the psychological phenomena of humans on the basis of the understanding of accumulated knowledge and theories of psychology about human mentality and behavior. Focus is put on the practical use of applied psychology to diagnose and treat behavioral disorders.

Department of Social Welfare

The department targets on producing welfare specialists who can prevent and solve various social problems and recognize the welfare society of the 21C. To do so, the department presents professional social welfare practice methods that can help improve social functions of individuals, family, groups, organizations, and the community. Upon graduation, the students are given a Level 2 social worker license and are qualified to take the Level 1 test.

Department of Child Care and Education

The department produces nationally certified second grade nursery school teachers who are in charge of child care and the education of children from ages 0 to 6. The department is in educationally cooperative relations with Konyang Nursery School affiliated with Konyang University, Sangrok Nursery School in Gyeryong City, and other cooperative nursery schools, where students shape their academic qualifications, character, and practical working skills. The department aims to contribute to the healthy growth and development of children and the realization of family welfare. Graduating students obtain a second grade special education and nursery teacher’s license and a second grade nursery teacher's license issued by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

Department of Early Childhood Education

The department targets the production of qualified preschool teachers who educate and protect children. Students study theories, and practical training allows student to apply the theories learned. Graduating students obtain a second grade regular preschool teacher's license and a second grade child care teacher's license.

Department of Elementary Special Education

Upon graduation, the students obtain a second grade special education (elementary) teacher’s license. Through double majors, the students can also obtain a license for secondary special education, to become an infant teacher, and social worker. The future for special education teachers is very bright. With plans of increasing the number of special education teachers, opportunities for students have expanded. The department focuses on cultivating quality special education teachers through professional theories, practicum reflecting of the needs of the special education field, and curricular and extracurricular activities.

Department of Secondary Special Education

With educational objectives of producing outstanding and warm-hearted special education professionals who will be responsible for the future of Korea's special education, the department offers courses on the latest theories of special education and quality field experience. Through the solid operation of its educational curriculum and plentiful extracurricular activities, the department supports its students so they may become quality special educators, able to provide the highest quality of education to handicapped youth.

Department of Rehabilitation Personal Training

The department produces professionals who will create and lead sports culture into the next generation. The department focuses on professional training for athletes and the general public, through principles and methods of rehabilitation training, and exercise coaching.

Faculty of Digital Contents & Design

The Faculty of Digital Contents & Design combines the curriculum of Digital Contents majors and Visual Design majors to foster creative professionals for cultural content. The freshmen enroll in general education courses, and from the second year on, the students are divided into digital content majors and visual design majors and enroll in practical courses. Selected for the CK-1 project fund in 2014, the department received 1.5 billion won from the government to operate specialized curriculums, develop local cultural content designs, and cooperate with local industries to strengthen its cultural capacity. Local cultural resources are used as the original source of inspiration for content and design. The department is a dream for cultural content creators who will lead in the globalization of local cultures and a creative economy.

Department of Sports Medicine

Sports therapy is a key tool in sports medicine that deals with prevention and improvement of adult diseases and rehabilitation. The Department of Sports Medicine aims to cultivate professionals in sports medicine who study appropriate exercise methods for each individual to develop health improvement exercise programs for both the healthy and sick. The curriculum is organized in a way to provide students with knowledge in medicine, sports science, and exercise prescriptions.
